Use of CIFFA Standard Trading Conditions*
- Recently revised and re-written in plain English, CIFFA's Standard Trading Conditions clearly outline the roles and responsibilities of the customer and the forwarder.
- Only members are allowed to display the CIFFA logo and to operate business under the CIFFA STCs, bringing the integrity and authority of the CIFFA brand to customer relationship

- CIFFA Professional Education Programs with standardized examinations set the bar for sector education in Canada
- CIFFA Dangerous Goods training courses meet IATA, FIATA, ICAO, IMO and Transport Canada standards. CIFFA tracks member employees Dangerous Goods training, alerting them to renewal requirements and opportunities.

CIFFA pioneered education programs date back to the early 1970's. Course materials are updated regularly and are recognized worldwide for their comprehensiveness and professionalism.
Industry Advocacy
- The Association works as a champion of business and industry sector rights. It represents a common front for international freight forwarders, taking on Government, NGO's, Conventions, Carriers, IATA and FIATA issues, both nationally and internationally
- CIFFA provides an effective and representational voice at all levels of government - whether it is to provide insight into the definition of the 'exporter' to Canada Border Services Agency when drafting the new Canadian Export Regulations or to work with carriers and governments in drafting the procedures for Advance Commercial Information. CIFFA is the 'Voice of Freight Forwarding' in Canada
- CIFFA works diligently on industry related issues, such as the Workers' Safety Insurance Bureau classification, to bring long term and lasting value to members
- CIFFA provides early visibility to members on important government initiatives, such as the work with Transport Canada on Air Cargo Security

Access to FIATA documents and full membership in FIATA*
- After a six-month waiting period, members are allowed to purchase and use all FIATA documents online, including FIATA FBLs, FCRs, etc.
- Full membership in FIATA and all related benefits (effective January 1st of each year).
- NB - FIATA Documents are not available electronically.
Opportunities for cost reduction
- Members can order neutral airway bills on-line via CIFFA at reduced rates.
- CIFFA partnerships and agreements with service providers provide opportunity for members to participate in new programs, often at greatly reduced costs. Visit the Vendors listings page for more information.
- Employees of CIFFA members can obtain home and auto insurance through negotiated rates with CIFFA service providers. For details call 1-866-752-8717.
- Members can take advantage of Corporate hotel rates at various hotels in Canada. Members can find these by logging in under the Members area of the CIFFA website.
- Children of Regular Member Employees can apply for the CIFFA Scholarship
Networking Events
- Participate in various Regional Networking events: Forwarders Choice Awards Gala Dinner, golf tournaments, student graduations, informational breakfasts, lunches etc.
Use of CIFFA Resume Board
This is a value-added and free service to CIFFA Members who may be looking to hire. Students of colleges or employees of Non-CIFFA Members who have achieved a CIFFA Certificate and/or Advanced Certificate are able to place their resumes on our web site.
