Associate Professional Freight Forwarder (APFF) Initial
CIFFA has listened to your comments and has recognized the demand to allow the PFF Designation to be awarded to persons not employed by CIFFA Regular Member companies. In addition to rejuvenating the PFF Designation, we are also introducing an Associate PFF Designation for that purpose.
All applicants must meet the following Qualification Requirements:
- Have worked for a minimum of ten (10) years in International Freight Forwarding with the last five (5) years of the experience being in Canadian Operations;
- Have worked with at least two (2) different modes of transport;
- Graduated from high school or equivalent;
- Hold a CIFFA Advanced Certificate in International Freight Forwarding;
- Other Qualifications:
a. Complete the required application form;
b. Submit a proof of clear employee background check (required every 5 years)
What is a clear employee background check and how to obtain it?
c. Submit three (3) Letters of Recommendation
Letters of Recommendation MUST be current (within 3 months), original, MUST be from the senior management (General Manager or higher) at the applicant’s current employer, past employer, customer, or industry associate (letters must come from three (3) different companies) and include the following information:
- your position/title and basic responsibilities,
- departments worked in and amount of time worked in each,
- number of years in the International Freight Forwarding industry and the number of years in the Canadian Freight Forwarding industry,
- contact information of the signatory must include phone and e-mail.
d. Submit a current passport photo of themselves
e. Pay the Initial PFF fee (CAD $295.00 + GST = $309.75)
