TRANSPORT CANADA UPDATE

Air Cargo Security Training Programs

AUTHORIZED  CARGO  REPRESENTATIVE  TRAINING  PROGRAM (ACR)

An Authorized Cargo Representative (ACR) is known as: Persons with the need, right and qualifications to access air cargo.

Training is done via an e-Learning program, available 24/7.  Plan on 3-4 hours for completion of the ACR e-Learning Program.

Learn how to handle cargo destined for air transport in a “secure” environment, how to recognize and respond to air cargo that has been tampered with, and how to restore a secure environment for air cargo.

Who should attend?

Everyone who has access to air cargo.  Personnel of:

§         Freight forwarders;

§         3rd party logistics providers;

§         Warehousing and distribution;

§         Carriers; and

§         Drivers.

Note:  Transport Canada also requires CSCs to undergo a criminal background check, in addition to air cargo security training.  Due to the security sensitive nature of these programs, registrations will only be accepted from known companies.
