Advanced Certificate Program (previously Module II)
Updated: May 28, 2009
Program Description
You must successfully complete the Certificate Program, before registering in the Advanced Certificate Program.
The Advanced Certificate Program builds on the foundation of the Certificate, and gives the student an added dimension for understanding the dynamics of freight forwarding, and international trade logistics. With the solid technical and anchoring skills developed in the Certificate, combined with some work experience, the student will now be introduced to more sophisticated disciplines and dimensions of international transportation and trade.
This Advanced Certificate Program will allow individuals to round out their acquired knowledge from the Certificate, through another 104 hours of classroom time. Additional insights into the specialized skills of international transportation, and trade, as well as an introduction to Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Sales and Marketing, and other relevant subjects will enhance the individual's skill set.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite for the Advanced Certificate is the successful completion of the Certificate.
Program Schedule
The four-hour classroom sessions are held weekly, for 26 consecutive weeks (evenings) at the various Centres for Continuing Education indicated.
Advanced Certificate Program - Starts early September of each year (with a short break in December) and ends early April of each year.
Exact dates, times, locations will be communicated to the student when CIFFA confirms your registration.
Classroom Locations
At present, the CIFFA Advanced Certificate Program is offered at the following locations:
Please note that these locations are subject to change.
e-Learning
Alternatively, an e-Learning option is available for students who wish to complete our Certificate Programs. e-Learning runs on the same schedule as the classroom programs, except students don’t attend lectures. This is an option for individuals who need flexibility, who cannot attend regular classes or where the classroom program is unavailable locally. The students write the same exams, on the same dates as classroom students. The student is responsible to arrange an exam supervisor at their company to monitor the writing of their exams.
Students use a combination of the Textbooks and the e-Learning Modules to complete the program. The e-Learning Modules are designed to be interactive and include lessons with reading, exercises to practice and evaluations to verify knowledge acquired.
