Air DG Initial (IATA)
Program Description
This 3-day program is for personnel who have little or no previous knowledge and experience in dealing with dangerous goods, internationally, by air.
This program has been designed to assist Shipper's, Freight Forwarder's, Importers/Exporters, and Airline Acceptance Agents with their responsibilities in dealing with Dangerous Goods shipments, according to the current International Air Transport Association's Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR), and the applicable parts of the Canadian TDGR.
CIFFA is an IATA Dangerous Goods Accredited School, and as such meets its stringent requirements and high standards. Our program also meets the requirements of the Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations.
This program provides both general background information, as well as detailed information on identification, packing, marking, labelling and documenting Dangerous Goods. An additional section on the current Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR) is included.
Lecture, discussion, handouts, exercises, group activities, and case studies will provide the participant with an enhanced learning environment.
The current edition of the IATA DGR is used as the main reference source for this program, and is provided for the participant's use while attending this program. Participants are provided a personal copy of handouts and exercises, which may be used later as on the job reference material.
Prerequisites
None, however previous knowledge of dangerous goods and experience in air transportation industry would be an asset.
