This interactive workshop provides an overview of the regulations, procedures, and documentary and data requirements governing exports from Canada, and highlights the current conditions for compliance in an effort to guide participants to better understand the export environment, avoid common mistakes and possible penalties resulting in more satisfied customers.

Attendees will participate in an instructor-led online workshop, able to ask questions and assess their topic comprehension through quizzes.

Topics:

CBSA Memorandum D20-1-1 export reporting; roles and responsibilities of the exporter, freight forwarder, carrier, CBSA, Global Affairs Canada; the commercial invoice, export permit, export declaration; export procedures; required data elements.

Learning Objectives:
  • Describe the purpose of commercial documentation, with the focus on the commercial invoice
  • Define controlled goods
  • Describe the regulatory requirements for exporting controlled goods, with the focus on export permits, area control list and export controls
  • Explain the procedures with respect to re-exporting goods of U.S. origin
  • Explain the process of reporting of exported goods, e.g., timeframes, reporting options, memorandum of understanding
  • Explain the importance of compliance and the AMPS

International Freight Forwarders: Export Managers, Supervisors, Operations, Customer Service, Sales personnel, Customs other logistics service providers who guide or advise clients.
