By using this website (the “Website”) of Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (“CIFFA”), including without limitation: the CareerConnects job portal; any learning platform; any education registration, tracking, or accreditation portal; or any event registration page; you are a User and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. CIFFA may change these terms and conditions by posting such changes on the Website, which take effect immediately. Your use of and continued use of the Website constitutes your acceptance of such terms and conditions, as amended. All use of the Website shall be consistent with the laws of Canada, including with respect to harassment and discrimination under the Human Rights Code.
CIFFA is not a law firm and does not have any lawyer or any other person qualified to give legal advice on staff. CIFFA offers its Members general guidance and assistance based on the collected experience of its Members and staff, and does so gratuitously and without liability for loss or damage of any kind for the use or misuse of this information, even if the loss or damage is caused or contributed to by CIFFA’s own negligence or the negligence of its employees. Information, material, and content on or available via the Website (“Content”) is for informational purposes only and is not intended to provide financial, legal, accounting, tax, or other professional advice whatsoever. In no event may CIFFA, or any of its directors, officers, employees, or other persons for whom it may be responsible in law, be liable in any manner for direct, indirect, special, consequential or punitive or other damages, however caused, arising out of your use of the Website or its Content howsoever arising, including errors, omissions, or negligence in the provision of the Website or Content. Intellectual Property Rights
All Content is protected under Canadian and International law by copyright. Users of this Website may print portions of this Website without alteration or modification for personal use only. Any other use of the Content, including but not limited to modification, publication, transmission, sale, lease, creation of derivative works therefrom, distribution, posting, display, or commercial exploitation of any Content in any manner is strictly prohibited without CIFFA’s prior written consent. The CIFFA logo with stylized script is a registered trademark and shall not be copied or used in any way whatsoever without CIFFA’s written permission. Tampering with or altering in any way the Website or its Content without authorization is strictly prohibited and contrary to law.
All Content that is intended to be accessed by Members only is Confidential information, may not be accessed by Non-Members, and shall not be further shared or distributed by Members without CIFFA’s authorization. The Website and its Content, including education and learning portals, CareerConnects, and event services, are intended for the professional use of Members, students, or registrants, as the case may be, and shall not be used by any other or third party or for any other or improper purpose.
While CIFFA takes reasonable and professional precautions to keep the Website, Content, and all confidential information secure, all Users are deemed to be knowledgeable about the various means of electronic information and the risks associated with such means, and shall take all reasonable precautions to keep both their user accounts and any Content accessed through those accounts secure and confidential. User accounts for the Website are for the specific user or authorized Member representative only and neither user accounts nor credentials relating to those accounts may be shared, transferred, or otherwise assigned without CIFFA’s express written consent.
These terms, as well as any claim arising directly or indirectly from the use of the Website or its Content shall be governed by the laws of Canada as applied in Ontario and the Courts of that Province have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any such claim. If any provision of this Agreement is unenforceable or void, then that provision shall be severed from this Agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall be interpreted mutatis mutandis in order to give them their full force and effect.
