2026 Spring Forwarder Magazine

4 THE FORWARDER | SPRING 2026 CIFFA Corp (CIFFA) is entering an exciting new chapter, one shaped by meaningful improvements to member services, bold advancements in education, and a stronger, more consistent presence in government advocacy. At the heart of every initiative is a simple goal: to support our members with modern tools, relevant learning, and a powerful voice in Ottawa. This year, members will notice a more seamless and connected experience thanks to CIFFA’s redesigned CRM system. The new platform makes it easier to register for events, workshops, and courses, while also improving communication and offering more personalized support. It’s a step toward a digital environment that feels intuitive, responsive, and aligned with the pace of today’s logistics industry. Education remains a cornerstone of CIFFA’s mission, and several new programs reflect the rapid transformation happening across global supply chains. A workshop on emerging technologies will help professionals understand and leverage tools like automation, AI, blockchain, and advanced analytics. Another program, focused on modern warehousing, explores everything from facility layout to the digital innovations reshaping operations. And launching this spring, the CIFFA Accredited Practitioner in Customs (CAPC) program will offer a structured pathway for those seeking deeper expertise in customs compliance, an area growing more complex each year. CIFFA has also strengthened its advocacy efforts in a significant way. In July 2025, the organization hired a full time, dedicated lobbyist to ensure members’ concerns are consistently represented at both the provincial and federal levels. With a permanent advocate in place, CIFFA is better positioned to influence policy, respond quickly to emerging regulatory issues, and champion the competitiveness of Canada’s supply chain. As CIFFA moves forward, the focus remains on the people and businesses that make this industry thrive. These changes aren’t just operational upgrades, they are investments in a stronger, more connected community. With modern tools, fresh learning opportunities, and a dedicated voice in Ottawa, CIFFA is building the foundation for a more resilient, informed, and influential logistics sector. And together with its members, the organization is shaping a future that reflects the ambition and strength of Canada’s supply chain. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE Powering the economy.
