Frequently Asked Questions

How much time do I have to complete this course?
You have 4 weeks from registration date to complete this online training. Upon completion of the online modules, you will qualify to take the final online examination.  This course is not supported by an instructor and is recommended for recurrent students only, with a strong understanding of accepting and processing dangerous goods by air. Note: Students are permitted one retake, which may be taken one week after the original exam. If you do not pass the retake, you will need to register for the course again.
If I move employers, do I require a new certificate?
Yes, as your employer must sign the certificate confirming that you have been adequately trained under TDG guidelines, a new one will need to be re-issued with your new employers’ details.  An administrative fee of $100 is required.
My current certificate expires in three months, should I wait to take this training?
If recurrent training is completed within the final three months of validity of the previous training, the period of validity extends from the month on which the recurrent training and assessment was completed until 24 months from the expiry month of that previous training and assessment.
Do I need the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations to complete this course?
Yes. You will need to acquire a copy of the latest IATA DGR to complete this course.  CIFFA DOES NOT provide these books, where possible please arrange to use your employer’s DGR.
I do not have a copy of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, can I still complete the course?
No. You will require a copy of the DGR Code to complete the course. Please ensure you have made arrangements to access the book from your employer BEFORE registering for the course.
Do you sell the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations?
No, we do not sell the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, but you can 1) purchase the electronic book from IATA, or 2) a less expensive option of buying a limited time electronic DGR.
I have an older version of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, can it be used?
We recommend that you use the latest edition of the DGR, but the last edition can be used as long as you can Google the amendments made to that addition.
