CIFFA made the following industry submission to Global Affairs Canada-Trade Negotiations – North America on the subject of the 2026 CUSMA Review
CIFFA stated that Canada’s economic prosperity is closely tied to its trilateral trade relationships with the United States and Mexico. As negotiations on CUSMA intensify leading up to the official joint review by its signatories in 2026 (prior to the agreement’s built-in expiry date in 2036) it is essential that the Government of Canada seek to reinforce and modernize this trilateral partnership to ensure continued growth, competitiveness, and resilience for Canadian businesses.
