This online program with a virtual one-day live-session is for shippers and freight forwarders  with no experience in dealing with dangerous goods by air, or who have let their previous air DG certificate expire for more than 12 months.  CIFFA highly recommends that recurrent students who do not consistently ship dangerous goods, be enrolled in this initial class as well.

CIFFA is an IATA and FIATA-ICAO Dangerous Goods Authorized Training School (ATS), and as such meets its stringent requirements and high standards.

This program provides both general background information, as well as detailed information on identification, packing, marking, labelling and documenting Dangerous Goods. Learning modules, practice tests, case studies and a live session with a certified instructor enhance the learning environment.

The current edition of the IATA DGR is used as the main reference source for this program, and is provided for the participant’s use while attending this program. A certificate in categories 6, as per table 1.5.A of the IATA Dangerous goods regulations is provided after successfully completing this course. The course is taught from the perspective of the freight forwarder.

Lithium batteries can be dangerous in transit and shipping them is a complicated process guided by ever changing regulations. Completing this course is not a dangerous goods certification, but coupled with on the job coaching and documentation of that coaching, it can be used to allow for the transport of lithium batteries under Section II.

The Air Dangerous Goods online recurrent course is a narrated and interactive course that mirrors the structure of the classroom course provided by CIFFA.  To complete the course, students MUST have a recent edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.  This training is required every two years, to maintain compliance and should occur within the calendar year of the Training Certificate’s expiration date.  CIFFA is an IATA and FIATA/ICAO Authorized Training School (ATS), and as such meets their stringent requirements and high standards. Our program also meets the requirements of the Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations.

A FIATA/ICAO dangerous goods certificate is issued upon successful completion of this course which is recognized by IATA agents.

• Certification: FIATA/ICAO recurrent certificate

• Examinations: Administered on successful completion on each lesson.  A passing grade of 80% is required
