Air DG Virtual Class — Initial

This initial course is for freight forwarders and shippers with no experience in shipping dangerous goods by air, or who have let their previous certificate expire for more than 12 months. This course is updated yearly in line with changes to the regulations. (CIFFA recommends that recurrent students who do not consistently ship dangerous goods enrol in this class as well.) Note: Online lessons with an instructor-supported virtual class require approximately 16 to 20 hours of study. This includes a 5-hour scheduled virtual workshop. (Copy of IATA DGR required.)

Course Description

This program provides both general background information, as well as detailed information on classification, identification, packing, marking, labelling and documenting of Dangerous Goods. Learning modules, practice tests, case studies and a live session with a certified instructor enhance the learning environment. You will learn how to identify hidden and forbidden hazards, as well as how to classify, identify, pack, mark, label, document and handle a complete dangerous goods shipment for air. CIFFA is an IATA and FIATA-ICAO Dangerous Goods Authorized Training School (ATS), and as such meets its stringent requirements and high standards. The current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations is used as the main reference source for this program, and is provided for the participant's use while attending this program.
