Course Description

CIFFA Online Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDG) Training provides certification for the transport of dangerous goods by land. The material covered in this course covers all required objectives as set out by Transport Canada. On successful completion a certificate is automatically provided that will require the learner and their employer to sign. This certifies that the employer confirms completion of required training on TDG commensurate to their position. To maintain compliance, students must recertify every 36 months.

How much time do I have to complete this course?
You have 3 weeks from registration date to complete this online training and the evaluation exam.   After 3 weeks your access to the course will expire. We estimate that this course will take you roughly 4 hours to complete.
How long do I have to complete CIFFA DG courses?
All CIFFA DG courses have a set completion period, which begins on the date of registration. Air DG – 4 weeks, Ocean DG – 3 weeks, Road DG – 3 weeks. If the modules and exam are not completed within this timeframe, the course will expire, and access to the materials will no longer be available. Please ensure you carefully review the information in the welcome email and follow the instructions provided.
If I move employers, do I require a new certificate?
Yes, as your employer must sign the certificate confirming that you have been adequately trained under TDG guidelines, a new one will need to be re-issued with your new employers’ details.  An administrative fee of $100 is required.
What is my employers responsibility in training?
Your employer must ensure that course material is completed by you alone, and assessments (exam) are completed ethically and without assistance.  Any additional specific training not covered in this course but commensurate with your position should be provided by your employer.  Your employer will need to sign the certificate of completion as per Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Regulations.  Please review an employee and employers' responsibilities here.
Can I take this course if I am not employed by a company?
No, the Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate MUST be signed by you, the employee, and your employer to be valid.
How much time will this course take to complete?
The course is a 4-hour commitment.
